| Analysis: |
Klesko had some fooled during the first few months of the season as he actually posted reasonable numbers for a corner OF. At the end of the story, he produces as a credible fourth or fifth outfielder, and at this point, that's all you can expect. The power spike from '05 to '04 is attributed to his healing back/shoulder allowing improved drive and loft, and frankly, this is as good as it gets barring a trade to a team with a positive park effect. His fielding woes are well documented, and he's often replaced late in games for defensive upgrades. Does this portend a move to the AL...DH anyone? Makes sense to us as he can still produce and should be projectable for the next two years. As he's on the last year of his expensive contract, there's a risk of trade to the AL; figure this into the mix in those leagues where stats do not follow the trade to NL/AL. |
